Here’s a shot of what the front used to look like. Note the lower roof section leading to the higher one.
Here, you can see the newly blocked up wall, and the installation of the beautiful steel brackets, which will support the new roof’s overhang.
Installing the brackets was quite the ordeal!
Meanwhile, up on the roof – work is finally complete. The outrageous skylights were installed yesterday as well. The amount of natural light they let in is just awesome.
Here you can see the stairwell walls going up. To the left of this and enclosing the front door will be our stunning glass-block foyer.
And here we are today! As you can see, the old auto-body shop look is definitely moving on.
Here is the office all framed in. Our beautiful new receptionist desk will curve around the front.
In case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s our great new sign!
So what are the next steps? Now that the roof is complete, we will begin on the insde. The wiring is almost complete, as is most of the rough plumbing. The showers are installed (although it’s a little nippy to use them at this point!) and everything is framed out. We’re thinking that we should be done and ready to open within 6-8 weeks at this point.
Keep sending up those great-weather-happy-building thoughts to whomever your spirit of choice may be, it’s working! We are very thankful for all of the support we’ve been receiving. Thank you and we’ll see you in the studio soon!
