I hope this finds you well and weathering our most recent storm.
We have quite a bit of progress to report, with lots completed on the inside and the outside. The new utility room is blocked up and roofed, and the electrical panel is installed. The ductwork for the fabulous heating system was delivered. The new transformer for our electrical service will soon be in place – we are upgrading to 600 amp service to support all of our high-tech systems which allow us to be more efficient and green. The majority of the interior framing is also complete.
We’ve begun talking to lighting people and cabinet makers, making sure to have the most optimum, energy efficient and beautiful options available.
Here we are today – a lovely winter scene! You can see the old roof is off and also where the new blocks need to be added.
We have been having some fun lately waiting for the weather to give us a bit of a break. The issue is that concrete blocks don’t stick together when it’s below freezing, and what we really need is a good week of 40+ degrees to complete our additional rows along the roofline. After that, we can finish the roof and really start cooking on the inside.
So when will we open? About 3-4 weeks after we are given the gift of a week above 40 degrees. If we all collectively send up some sunny, warm thoughts, hopefully that will come soon!
Until then: “Patience and fortitude conquer all things.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
Stay warm! Think of that wonderful, hot Bikram Yoga class just around the corner…
